Here on offer we have a very smart Parker Victory Mk IV Fountain Pen finished in Classic Jet Black with gold filled pocket clip and cap rings. Manufactured at the old Valentine factory in Newhaven the model had quite a short production run from 1948 to 1952. This is a lever less model with a button filler similar to the A/F Duofold aluminium button fillers.

The pen has been fully serviced professionally, disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, had a new sac fitted and then rebuilt. I have thoroughly write tested the pen, and it has been great to use.

The cap is in very good condition, a deep lustrous jet black. It has no cracks, splits or scratches, only the patina of use over its 70 odd years of life.

The re-designed, tapered gold filled pocket clip, with PARKER inscribed vertically down its centre, is straight and secure. It has excellent tension and is topped off with a glossy black cap stud. The twin gold filled cap bands complete the cap decoration, and all the gold filled fittings polish up a treat.

The cap screws down perfectly to the barrel with full thread. The bodywork is in very good condition, with no nasty scratches, splits or cracks, bearing only the marks commensurate with a lifetime of use. Clearly inscribed on the barrel we have. The 2 denoting the year of manufacture as 1952. At the barrel end is the blind cap, which when unscrewed reveals the aluminium button used to fill the pen.

The blind cap also screws perfectly to the barrel, it has a couple of minor marks, but nothing detrimental. Fitted with a 14ct gold "N" Newhaven nib this pen is a great writer.

The nib delivers a luscious, super smooth wet line, verging on a broad I would say. It has been thoroughly enjoyable to use. Please see photo number 10 for an example of the script. Inscribed on the nib is: PARKER-14K-N. A very simple, reliable and well proven filling system.

To fill the pen, remove the blind cap, depress the button, and place the nib well into the ink. Then release the button allowing the sac to re-inflate thus sucking up the ink-allow a few seconds for this process to take place. To summarise, this pen was manufactured to a to a very high standard in 1952 by Parker at the old Valentine factory in Newhaven. It is pleasing to the eye, the length and girth being proportioned beautifully. It is very comfortable in the hand and most rewarding to use.

It has been carefully serviced and prepared for sale and could serve a new owner for many years. MEMBER of the WRITING EQUIPMENT SOCIETY.
